For more than 165 years, The Slinger House and The Carriage House have stood at the heart of downtown Slinger, welcoming generations of locals and visitors. Built in 1857 as the "Farmer's Home," The Slinger House began as a place of rest, conversation, and hospitality for farmers, travelers, and neighbors in what was then Schleisingerville.
From its earliest days as a tavern, hotel, dance hall, and stable, it became woven into the community's daily life. As the village grew, the building expanded on its solid fieldstone foundation, adapting with the times while always remaining a gathering place for food, drink, and celebration.
Just steps away, The Carriage House played an equally important role. Originally built to store horse-drawn carriages and equipment, its thick stone walls still stand strong—now forming a warm, inviting space that blends historic character with modern comfort. Together, these two buildings represent a continuous tradition of hospitality in Slinger: preserved, thoughtfully updated, and still devoted to bringing people together.
